MTR A Mighty Blessing Comes to North Las Vegas

The American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC) Nonviolence Coalition North Las Vegas organized a special event called "Stopping the Violence by Blessing the Families" at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Senior Center in North Las Vegas, Nevada on Parents Day, Sunday July 23, 2023.

North Las Vegas Mayor, Pamela Goynes-Brown, made history by proclaiming April 4th as A Day of Nonviolence. 

Bishop Ki Hoon Kim, with his notable presence, expressed admiration for the devotion shown by the many Family Church members who served the guests. Rev. David Reed emphasized the role parents play in raising children in a nonviolent environment with Godly families as the building blocks of peaceful community. Rev. Stephen and Hisai Child officiated the blessing ceremony, emphasizing the significance of three generations of families and the Only Begotten Daughter. Rev. Ernesto and Hiroko Gomez delivered an inspiring opening prayer, offering hope to the Latin community. 

With a  goal of 64 blessed couples the Prominent families, included Retired Mayor Pro Tem Theron and Naomi Goynes, who have a park and school named after them, Dee Dee Jasmin, an original dancer from the Moulin Rouge, and Helen Toland-Anderson, the first Black American female school principal in Nevada, were among the newly blessed couples.
