Water Pump Fundraiser for Pakistan!

The Shalom Blessings of Yaweh children’s ministry was started two years ago in Pakistan by a young Christian man from Faisalabad. After seeing poor and orphaned children living on the roadside, Atishna Masih heard God’s voice calling him to help them. Just 18 years old at the time, he gathered together a small team of volunteers, and rented a house for these children and some widows who were helping them. Since then, they have been fed and clothed, and the children have attended the local village school every day. Atishna, who lives a few hours away from the village, comes to see them every week and brings food that gets cooked and distributed. On holidays, he tries to give the children something special to bring joy and happiness into their hearts. He teaches them from the Bible and hopes for them to become strong and righteous. Atishna says, “God has chosen me for this work.”

Children on the roadside in a small village in Pakistan before Atishna began to help them.

Atishna uses his own money to maintain the home and provide the food. He relies on individual small donations, as well as on his parents’ generosity and support. He does not receive any church or governmental financial support. He goes door to door asking for donations.

At this time, there is an urgent need for clean water. He wants to install a water pump filtration system to bring clean, drinkable water to the children. There is plenty of water on the property, but it is very dirty. Atishna has spoken with a nearby plumbing company, and they can install a water pump system that will filter the water and make it drinkable, at a cost of around $850.

The water situation at their house in the village is very dire. They need a filtration pump.

This Sunday, September 10, we will have a fundraiser at IPEC after the church service to raise money for the water pump. Please consider making a donation for this urgently needed project. And if your heart tells you to do more, now or in the future, Atishna will be happy to receive donations to help with the monthly expenses of rent, food and clothing for the children. If you want to help the water filter project, and will not be at the Sunday Service, you can contact Arthur Herstein, 301-793-8839. text or phone. He will forward all the proceeds. For more information on Atishna’s work, contact him directly on Messenger or visit his Facebook page:

I want to build a house for these children to live in, where they will not have to worry about anything. God wants me to do this and gives me the courage. I have given my life to God and I want to do God’s good deeds and follow God’s commandments. I hope to build a house of God, a church that people will come to and glorify His name.
